How can parents get involved

PerformingArtsWhit_2.jpg

All remote parent or high school volunteer roles:

Webmaster:  1-2 hours per production.  Their job would entail updating the website for each production and forwarding any emails sent via the website to the director (only about 1-2 a year).

Communications Coordinator:  2-2.5 hours per production.  Helps the Director by setting up the Zoom meeting at the beginning of the production, editing some weekly updates and advertising each performance via email to feeder schools.

In Person parent or high school volunteer roles:

Costume Queen:

PAW has years of donated, purchased and created costumes and costume pieces to keep costs low for students.  Some students do, however, obtain their own costume but all students need to leave their costumes at school for the week of the show. A parent or grandparent is needed to organize the costumes, supervise the students trying them on, label the hangers, and help with the costumes backstage during dress rehearsals.  This person must be available the last 2-3 Wednesdays before the show from 2:30-4 as well as Wed and Thursday of Tech Week. Please note that this person would not need to acquire or create the costumes but will keep the Director informed if more costumes need to be purchased and can collaborate on ideas.  It would be great as well if this person could help me wash the loaned PAW costumes after each production.  ;)

Props Master/ Stage Crew Lead:

Looking for a parent to supervise the Stage Crew students while they create sets/props and costume pieces on Mondays from 4 to 5p.  The Director creates hand outs for each Stage Crew job and leads the rehearsals where the Stage Crew practices the sequence of the curtains, lights, sound, and changing out the sets and props. This parent just needs to be present for those Mondays to learn the sequence so they can supervise the stage crew during Tech Week (every day after school) and the show.

Rehearsal Helpers:

No theater experience needed and no need to commit to every week.  Performance groups (scenes) will run through stations to maximize their rehearsal time.  These parents will be a station and have a copy of the script and be the audience for when the students run through their lines. Sign up for 1 or more rehearsals in a SignUpGenius at the start of each production.  Regular Helpers would be amazing!

Tech Support: (2-4 hours per  production)

This job can be done in the evenings after work.  This family member (can also be a couple high school students for service hours) with stereo, AV or tech experience would help me set up the mics, adjust settings on the soundbox and position speakers to maximize our sound a week or so before the show.
