Many ways students can get involved:

1. Performers:
There are lots of roles which are gender flexible so plenty of roles to go around. All students who audition for an acting role will receive one. Some roles have group lines or just physical comedy. The spring musical has opportunities to dance and sing. Singers and dancers are in almost every song (at least 6). Usually students also sign up to act so they might be playing a role in that skit or the singers and dancers will come onstage just for that song and then go off-stage. Singers wanting vocal solos will need to do a singing audition. Auditioning does not guarantee that you will receive a solo or duet but you will be singing in the show. Students don't have to sing or dance in the Spring Musical -there are plenty of acting only roles. Students who are singing might be doing some arm and head movements but not the full dances.
How do auditions work?
- Auditions are designed to be low stress events.
- Everyone who auditions for an acting role will receive one.
- Auditions help prepare you for high school theater and help the Director find a role
in which you can shine.
- "Cold auditions": no lines to memorize in advance, you receive lines at the audition
- Auditions occur in the wings to keep them private from the students waiting to audition in the back of the auditorium.
- Parents or guardians must register you online before you audition.
Spring Musical details:
- Students wanting vocal solos will need to sign up for a vocal audition after they
register but no need to audition if you want a role dancing or singing in a group.
- Auditions for solos should prepare in advance and receive song clips via email.

2. Creative Teams: Stage Crew:
Stage Crew takes an active role in designing and creating costume pieces and sets/props. There are various props and set pieces from past shows that can be repurposed. The last few weeks of rehearsals are learning the equipment and practicing the sequence of the show - moving set pieces and props on and offstage, opening/closing curtains, as well as operating the lighting board, sound board and spotlight. These students then practice that along with the actors during Tech Week (rehearsals every day after school the week of the show).
